This thread discusses the Content article: Calling the shots

There is about $13 trillion in US businesses that have gone overseas to avoid the high corporate taxes we enjoy. Going to a fair tax [consumption tax] would bring this back. A lot better "bail out" than the $700 billion. With a fair tax there would be no tax on any business. No need for tax compliance would mean a savings nearly $500 billion a year. No need for 35,000 lobbyists in Washington. As they spend billions for their effort I wonder who gets some of that money? McCain at least wants lower corporate and capital gains taxes which would help the economy no end.

That actually made allot of sense, are you a politician utahconman? I would guess that's the only way that did't make sense, is that your politician and logic doesn't compute, and cutting your lobbyists out of the picture.

Perhaps. As we have witnessed, the years of less govt. I.E. deregulation amd "trickledown economics" during the "Decider's" last 8 years have just been a blockbuster improvement for Joe 6 pack!
