This thread discusses the Content article: GOP leader endorses Spencer over ChaffetzThe interesting thing is, that we all want the same things for our country. The difference is that we have seen that Democratic ways fail. If we look at the cities with the most poverty, unemployment, crime, and debt, we find they are controlled by Democrats. If we look at the cities with the least poverty, unemployment, crime, and debt, we find they are controlled by Republicans. Same things with states. That should show people something. But it doesn't. Those who think they are helping by voting in democrats should think again.

Is this a news article or just some sound-bite quotes. I expect a newspaper to be a little more in-depth with its articles.

Says like a bit that someone deeply entrenched/schooled in politics and the head of the GOP would endorse a Democrat. Or perhaps you are the more educated? Ha ha ha

I could not agree more with Dean Hawker. I am a lifelong Republican who works every election to see our people elected. But this year I will not support Jason Chaffetz.
I'm voting for Bennion Spencer.

There's no question but what both these candidates are honorable men. In addition, Mr. Spencer professes a number of conservative positions. However, these positions stand in stark contrast to those espoused by the greater Democratic Party. If Mr. Spencer were truly a conservative, he would be a Republican.
Any successes of Democratic candidates strengthens the greater Democratic Party's ability to advance their liberal agenda. Those of us who deeply value conservative principles cannot afford to support even good men who are not solid conservatives who will not be advancing a strong conservative agenda.
I am mortified at those officials in my party who have succumbed to corruption. But there is more than enough corruption in both parties to go around; this is not exclusive to Republicans.
Because we need leaders in Congress of good character who are committed conservatives, I'm voting for Jason Chaffetz and I encourage everyone to do the same.
