Goshen Mutton Bustin' entry deadline soon There are full-grown men, rosining up their bull ropes who started out in Mutton Bustin' at the home town rodeo. Mutton Bustin' is a rodeo sheep riding event for five to seven-year-olds. Kids are given a full grown sheep to ride from the chute into the arena for a short time. In roping parlance, it's catch-as-catch-can; kids are allowed to hold on to the wool, the sheep's neck -- hook their legs around the belly. All they have to do is make a short, good ride. The Fiesta Days Rodeo Queens and the Diamond Fork Riding Club members surround the kids and help them in their ride. Activities begin at 5:30 on Friday, June 20. The Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's signature fund raising event. In 2007, the relay raised more than $1.6 million to fund research. The goal for 2008 is $1.84 million. SF Wasatch mtn expo wi pix With over 70 vendors, activities for the kids, and plenty of outdoor hunting and fishing the Wasatch Mountain Outdoor Expo was the place to be this Father's Day Weekend. The event was held on Friday, June 13 and Saturday June 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. Mountainland Head Start offers FREE preschool services to eligible families in Utah, Wasatch and Juab Counties. Eureka land owner's trees stolen Bill White of Goshen has lost some trees. He didn't just lose them - someone took them. White and his family were preparing some land a few miles west of Eureka for building a home. They had carefully removed the trees that would be in the way of the new building. They had left some of the larger pinyon pines for shade. Last Thanksgiving, the last time they were there, everything was as they had planned. When they got there this week, about fifteen trees were missing. Thefts from farms on the rise Property crimes, once considered an urban problem, are being committed in rural areas with increased frequency. Theft and property damage can cause serious financial and personal loss to farmers and ranchers.
