Published nearly a half century ago, the story and messages in Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" still strike a chord in today's society.

Despite a tight market, developers are moving forward with plans to construct a commercial project sometime next year right off Interstate 15 on the 1600 North gateway into Orem.

Heroes Among Us to pay tribute to victims of Crandall Canyon Mine collapse -- Funded by private and state contributions, the piece, called "Heroes Among Us" was sculpted by Karen Jobe Templeton as a memorial to the victims of the Crandall Canyon Mine collapse. The bronze artwork is being prepared at Lehi Arts Foundry on State Street.

In a world gone green, it seems that the choice isn't necessarily organic or not, but what the price is.

"I'd rather have (Barack) Obama. That doesn't bother me but what is her guy (McCain) going to do for the country? Is John McCain going to end the war? Barack Obama talks more about other people than he does himself. It shouldn't be about them, it should be about the people. That's what Obama does."

Cherry Hill Elementary School is 196 miles closer to Beijing, China. Cherry Hill Elementary held its first assembly of the year on Thursday to kick of the "Gold Medal Mile" program. The school theme for the 2008-2009 year is "Dream Team." A dream for this school year is to walk as a team to Beijing, China -- walking 6,100 miles by May 2009.
