Santaquin City Library held its open house to start their summer program for children Kindergarten to 8th grade. June 4th was the date. It will have an Olympic theme. The Library will have a big poster hanging on the wall. It will have all the participants names, and their points will be posted each week.

The Orchard Hills Elementary School, was decorated with Diamonds and Divas. June 7th 2008 was the date of the Little Miss and Junior Miss Pageant for Santaquin. There were 14 Contestants for each of the two groups. There were four divisions in each group. Eight Queens were chosen.

Elk Ridge City's annual celebration begins Friday, June 27, with a parade down Park Drive at 6:30 p.m.¬ The theme this year is "America the Beautiful." The parade is followed by the Mayor's Dinner at Shuler Park.¬

A recent plan by Santaquin to annex some properties in the Spring Lake area has left Spring Lake residents fuming -- and planning to incorporate into a city of their own.

The 31st of March was a very special night for Santaquin, It was the night of the Miss Santaquin Pageant. There were seven contestants, all lovely talented girls. It was held at the Payson High School.

A 10 year old boy on his bike was hit by a car Friday evening about 6:45 p.m. at 800 South and 800 West in Payson. The boy was in the crosswalk and heading south when a car traveling west became distracted for a moment and hit the boy.

Nebo School District and Payson High School Athletics nominated Jimmy DeGraffenried into the Hall of Fame for his positive role as an outstanding athlete. This is the first year for this award.

Four hundred thirty five seniors at Payson High School were part of the annual graduation ceremony which took place on Wednesday, May 28th at 6:00 p.m. at the David O. McKay Events Center at UVU.
