The Cedar Hills City Council tweaked its appointment powers for the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustments March 4, downgrading the mayor's role in the process.


Adoption a part of family business, life

Family is an important word in the local community; and for James and Laura Trinnaman, family is their business. The couple has been running an adoption agency since 2001 in American Fork. They currently operate under the name Families for Children, an agency which has been well established in Salt Lake since 1984. The Trinnamans are currently in the process of breaking off and opening For Every Child Adoption Services.

For Alpine resident Michael Kennedy, "Emma Smith: My Story," a biographical film about the wife of Joseph Smith, the founder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is more than a movie.

The stink from the north county sewer plant has been reported from up to eight miles away, and recently caused some local business people to send employees home early.


SLC law firm opens office in Alpine

The Salt Lake City law firm BTJD has expanded to include a satellite office in Alpine. Seven of the 33 attorneys in the firm live in Utah County and will work from the northern Utah County office.
