Alpine Ordinance: Pool fences mandatory Alpine residents who build pools will have to fence them or put up some kind of barrier around them. The City Council on June 24 passed an ordinance to make that requirement. This new power source will mean no generators putting out loud noise limiting the hearing during the rodeo. Power to the party: Alpine OKs lines to city rodeo grounds During this year's Alpine Days there won't be loud generators running during the rodeo because by the time the city celebration rolls around in August, there will be a permanent power supply there. Alpine makes school zone on Main Street Alpine council members voted unanimously this week to create a reduced speed zone in front of the Mountainville Academy charter school on Main Street. Lone Peak Community Briefing Public invited to open house -- Highland City has invited the public to an open house for the new Highland fire station and Lone Peak Fire District headquarters. It will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5585 W. Parkway West St. (5600 West and 10850 North). Motorized vehicles on trails to be stopped -- Highland has spent considerable time and money to establish trail systems throughout the city. Unfortunately, they have also received a number of complaints about motorized vehicles being on the trails. That is not allowed. These are mostly kids on four wheelers who make it a problem of safety for other users. Alpine to reduce speed zone Alpine Council members voted unanimously on Tuesday to create a reduced speed zone in front of Mountainville Academy on Main Street. Alpine ice cream fundraiser a hit with residents Residents of Alpine flocked to Legacy Park to support the Alpine Community Theater and enjoy the one dollar ice cream offered on June 21. The event was also part of the Alpine Arts Council's concert in the park series for the summer. Local Boy Scout dedicates park to cancer victim After a long road with the Boy Scouts of America, Macay Hunter's Scouting career is nearing the end with the completion of his Eagle Scout project which was to help construct a park.
