The residents of Alpine Cove showed up in numbers to protest a proposed road that would connect the Three Falls Subdivision with their neighborhood. Residents of the Cove had earlier signed a petition to be heard at the meeting.

Teachers get reputations for being stern, easy, or a staunch disciplinarian. Very few teachers though are as well loved as Linda Dibb.

When Andy Hindes wanted to build homes for charity in 2006, his goal was to work with families in South America. But he changed his mind when he found conditions were not much different in areas of his own country.

Courage Reins seeks volunteers -- Courage Reins, a therapeutic horseback riding program for children, needs volunteers to help care for the horses and assist during lessons. No experience is needed. Stamp Out Hunger -- Utah letter carriers will hold their annual food drive on Saturday and Utahns are encouraged to participate by placing non-perishable food in a bag near their mailbox prior to mail delivery. The drive, in its 16th year, is the largest one-day food collection in the nation.

An abundance of history is there to be found at the Alpine City Cemetery. Walking the grounds can be an adventure, but there is a layer of history that is as of yet unseen.

A class of kids sat huddled together against the back of a maintenance building at Westfield Elementary School trying to avoid the cold wind blowing hard and chilling everyone it touched. The fifth-grade class has gotten together to plant a tree to celebrate Arbor Day and to show service to their school.

Auditions for Alpine Community Theater (ACT) summer production of "Seussical, The Musical" begin on Saturday at Timberline Middle School in Alpine. Audition times are 9 a.m. to noon for boys and girls ages 8-12, 12:30-2:30 p.m. for¬ adults ages 19 and older, and 1:30-4:30 p.m. for teens ages 13-18. Anyone who needs to come at a different time should contact Laura Snyder in advance at 763-1225.

In a time when governments usually spend vast sums of money on things its citizens never hear nor know about, the city of Alpine has decided to ask its residents for some input on spending.

Starting this week you can turn your radio dial to 88.5 FM to hear the new and improved KLPH Knight Line Radio station.

Those who love the books of Dr. Seuss or just plain enjoy musicals will be happy if they get to check out "Seussical the Musical" at Mountain Ridge Junior High School which runs from Tuesday to May 3.
