Just in time for fresh peaches, school starts up again.


Kindergarten begins: Treats and tissues

There were lots of excited smiles and only a few tears at Rocky Mountain Elementary as the kindergarten students started their first day of school. When parents brought their young students to school, the PTA was on hand with "Kookies and Kleenex" to help parents and children with this time of transition.

As we finish up our second week of school, one thought keeps coming through my mind. Fresh slate.


New A.F. Jr. High principal finds job rewarding

Shane Farnsworth said he is excited to be the new principal at American Fork Junior High School.


A.F. band members march all summer long

Often high school students get summer jobs to pay for their wants and needs during the schools year. That's not the case with some of the members and former members of the American Fork High School Marching Band and Color Guard.


Youth storytellers get chance to shine

The Timpanogos Storytelling Festival begins tonight and runs through Saturday, and performing alongside the professional storytellers are many youth storytellers, several from our area; one such performer is second grader Mason Watts from Highland Elementary School.


Pool party increase Knight school spirit

Lone Peak High School held its annual beginning of the year pool party Aug. 21 at the Pleasant Grove Community pool. Students rode the water slide, did flips off the diving board, played water basketball, splashed in the mushroom fountain, and played Frisbee.

Lone Peak's student council welcomed the student body back to school with one of the cleverest attempts at school spirit I have seen in my two years as a student at Lone Peak High School.
