Museum announces workshops -- The Hutchings Museum workshops for the 2008 winter season have been released. More information on the workshops is available at the museum, 55 N. Center St., Lehi, at its Web site, www.hutchingsmuseum.org or by phoning 768-7180. January workshops include a Great Depression Kit mystery, medicine bags and Native American culture, a Victorian Pocket Heart, trilobytes and survival skills.

Well, Christmas is over. The Yule log is now merely Yule ashes; the Christmas wrapping has become recycling, and the Christmas cookies have found a home where only hours of exercise will find them. It is definitely the time of year for reflection of the past year's successes and mistakes and the time to make resolutions to improve our lives in the coming year.


Timpview High junior named Youth of the Year

Karina Torres, a junior at Timpview High School was named the Youth of Year by the Boys and Girls Club of Utah County.


PGHS teacher honored by school district, city council

Not only was Amy Smithson named the outstanding high school teacher of the year by Alpine School District for 2007, but she had a day named for her in Pleasant Grove. Nov. 21 was proclaimed "Amy Smithson Day" by Mayor Michael W. Daniels and the City Council at a recent City Council meeting.
