Six to attend American Legion Boys' State Print E-mail

American Legion Post #28 reports six boys from Springville and Mapleton will go to Boys' State on Monday, June 9, 2008. They will leave the Springville Senior Center at 6:15 a.m. There will be an orientation meeting for the boys and parents at the Springville Senior Center Thursday, June 5, at 7 p.m.

The Springville City Pool served as a laboratory May 8 as Utah County Health Department officials provided a stark demonstration of how easily the disease cryptosporidiosis can be spread in a pool.

Mapleton Fireman's Breakfast, Arbor Day celebration Sat. Print E-mail

Come support Mapleton firemen Saturday, May 17, at the annual Fireman's Breakfast. The breakfast will be held at the Mapleton Fire Station, located at 35 E. Maple in Mapleton. Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. The cost will be $4 per person or $15 per family, with a limit of 6.

If you like to go to garage sales, and you want to support a good cause, come to the Cystic Fibrosis Yard Sale sponsored by Lauren Ostler and the Ostler Family. The yard sale will be on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 194 N. 900 East in Springville.
