The new Mapleton Youth Council was sworn in on June 18, 2008. The members that were sworn in are Shyrel Peterson, Sean Allsop, Eric Beaudoin, Megan Tietjen, John Sommerfeldt, Deson Haynie, Michael Black, Raymond Griffin, Meggie Savage and Mary Raymer. The council members that were not able to attend are Amberly Asay, Tyler Brinkerhoff, Haley Brooksby, Kaley Carson, McKenzi Edwards, Kim Salisbury and Alyssa Whiting.
