Due to the Springville World Folkfest this coming week, there will be no movie at the Arts Park Monday. Citizens are invited to attend the Folkfest any night, Saturday. July 12, through Saturday, July 19, except Sunday and Wednesday.

Former Springville Mayor Hal Wing and his wife, Brigitte, were honored at last week's Springville City Council meeting with the Citizens of the Year Award from the Springville Police Department.

Summer can be a deadly time of year for children. With the recent death of an infant left alone in a car, the Utah Department of Health (UDOH) is pleading with parents to be especially careful with their children this summer.

The new Mapleton Youth Council was sworn in on June 18, 2008. The members that were sworn in are Shyrel Peterson, Sean Allsop, Eric Beaudoin, Megan Tietjen, John Sommerfeldt, Deson Haynie, Michael Black, Raymond Griffin, Meggie Savage and Mary Raymer. The council members that were not able to attend are Amberly Asay, Tyler Brinkerhoff, Haley Brooksby, Kaley Carson, McKenzi Edwards, Kim Salisbury and Alyssa Whiting.
