There will be a special public meeting for Mapleton residents on Wednesday, July 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to update townspeople on various city projects and issues including secondary irrigation, budget and revenue, capital projects, litigation status and other topics.

Stella Polonia, a Polish folk song and dance ensemble group based in Toronto, Canada, will be traveling to Springville to attend the 2008 Springville World Folkfest. Stella Polonia's repertoire includes all Polish national dances as well as an excellent selection of Polish regional dances and songs. Folkfest performances will be presented on July 12, 14, 15, 17, 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. at the Spring Acres Arts Park, 620 S. 1350 East, Springville (just northeast of Springville High School). Tickets may be purchased at the gate; ticket prices are $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $3 for children.
