Cemetery Decoration for Memorial Day guidelines Print E-mail
Daily Herald

Spanish Fork City Parks Department would like to thank all those who decorate the Cemetery with flowers for Mother's Day. It is always a beautiful sight. Our crews are now preparing the Cemetery to look great for Memorial Day. We need your help. Cemetery patrons have placed plants, cut flowers, potted flowers, artificial flowers and plants, baskets, containers, stands, and other memorabilia around the head stones and sometimes covering the grave site. This makes it impossible to maintain the grass without removing or damaging the memorabilia.

When a soldier is deployed they leave behind their family, and often times family life can be turned upside down while they are away. This is where Family Assistance Center Specialist Ann Bennett steps in. Bennett is the hub of an elaborate support center provided to families of deployed and even non-deployed soldiers serving in the Guard.¬  According to Bennett, something always seems to go wrong for a soldiers family once they are gone and usually family members are not sure what to do.

The national rankings and undefeated season are over for the Dons varsity softball team after losing last week to Pleasant Grove. But, mentally this could be a good thing to have happen for the Dons especially with the state playoffs coming up here soon. They learned that they must stay focused for every game.
