As the leaves begin to turn and a crisp chill¬ is in¬ the air, eager patrons await the¬ re-opening of the Salem City Library. The library, which has been under renovation, will be open to the public October 1.¬ Lynn Durrant, the city council member over the library for five years now,¬ speaks about the project and¬ re-opening, "This renovation is a project that has been very close to my heart" she stated¬ "something I have thoroughly enjoyed."¬

Grounded in Grace Community, a non-profit spiritual community is sponsoring a multifaceted weekend retreat October 3, and 4, 2008. Entitled Triangle of Empowerment, this a one and a half day event is for men and women, with speakers, music, workshops, exercise, food, vendors and community.

State History announces the 2009 Utah Prehistory Week Poster Contest. The winning poster will be professionally printed and distributed nationwide to promote Utah's unique past. Every year, Prehistory Week celebrates Utah's rich archaeological, paleontological, and cultural resources during the first full week of May. Events all over the state include lectures, programs, activities, demonstrations, and tours.
