Salem citizens are taking advantage of the good nature of the City staff when it comes to using the Community Center. Councilman Brent Hanks reported policy abuses and drinking at the Community Center necessitated some action.

More Spanish Fork citizens put their two cents in about recycling during the Spanish Fork City council meeting than commented about the budget. When council opened the floor for public comment on the FY 09 budget, no citizens rose to speak.

Cody Blackett, son of Mark and Darci Blackett, of Mapleton,¬ Utah, has recently completed the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout.¬ He will receive his Eagle Award at a Court of Honor,¬ tonight, Thursday, June 12, 2008, at 7 p.m., at the LDS "Red"¬ Church in Mapleton.¬ For his project, he collected shoes, sheets and school supplies for the women and children at the Casa de Esperanza (House of Hope) in Hermosillo, Mexico.¬ The project was done through the Tres Arboles Humanitarian Organization in Mapleton.
