Families gathered at the city park on Sunday, July 20th for an evening of inspirational music and stories. For the second year in a row, Joshua Creek performed at Fiesta Day's Sunday Night in the Park. The group performs country-esque music with lyrics about faith and family. In between many of their popular songs, the group entertained with funny stories and jokes.

Debt service is the basic reason for raising water rates in Salem City. At a City Council work session on water rates, City Manager, Jeff Nielsen told the group $21 was needed to cover the base of debt service without any water usage rates added in. That base rate is a requirement of the bond and to cover debt.

Children and families of all ages gathered on Saturday, July 19th at the top of Center Street to participate in the annual Fiesta Day's Children's parade. This year, thirty four floats signed up to participate and were decorated for the theme, "Celebrating Traditions."

Llama Fest fun family event
The 14th annual Llama fest was held at the Sri Sri Radna Krishna Temple, Saturday, July 19, 2008. Besides watching Llamas work through an obstacle course with their owners or petting baby llamas, visitors to the festival could enjoy a wide variety of food and entertainment.

The construction cost for the Lake Powell Pipeline Project has been recently completed and now stands at $1.064 billion. The updated cost estimate from June 2008 represents a good faith "snapshot in time." "Costs have risen sharply over the past several years, as they have for similar major construction projects nationwide," said Utah Division of Water Resources Director Dennis Strong. The Division is in charge of the pipeline development.¬
