On July 15, 1943 Grant Burnell Penrod and Charlotte Fern Muzzell were married. That makes 65 yrs. for the happy couple. The Penrods lived in Orem for the first 31 yrs. of their marriage and in Am. Fork, UT for the next 34 yrs. Grant and Fern are the proud parents of 7 children, 35 grandchildren, and 67 great-grandchildren.

Jed Ottesen of Palmyra and Amber Wilson of Nampa, Idaho will exchange wedding vows Saturday, July 19th at the Canyon View Park at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon with a reception honoring the newlyweds from 7 to 9 p.m.

Dee Parker will be 80 years old on July 18, 2008. John C. and Elma M. (Crum) Thomas celebrated their Fiftieth wedding anniversary on Friday, July 11, 2008. They were married in Provo, UT on July 11, 1958, where they raised three children, Kathy T. (Mark) Martens, Bend, OR; J. Carl (Toni) Thomas, Orem, UT; and Pam J. (Dennis) Hall, Greenriver, WY and where they continue to reside today. They have five grandchildren and two great-grand children.

Elder Kyle Parker, son of David and Elaine Parker, of Orem has been called to serve in the Arkansas Little Rock Mission of the LDS Church. He will speak in the Heatheridge Stake Center, 2000 N. 450 E., Orem, Utah on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. He will enter the MTC on July 23, 2008.

Mark and Sonya Hurst are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Kathryn Chantelle Hurst to Shiloe Gentry Mecham, son of Gary and Valya Mecham and the late Jill Mecham. The wedding will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 in the Mt Timpanogos Temple.

Shaun and Elaine Peterson and Bill and Anittra Bulow are pleased to announce the marriage of their children Michelle and Darren. The couple will be married on July 12, 2008.

Austin C. Ellis, age 16, son of Dr. Chad and Lynette Ellis of Pleasant Grove, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. He is in Venture Scout Post 770 sponsored by the Pleasant Grove Mount Mahogany 5th Ward. For his service project he raised just over $600 to purchase humanitarian supplies. He participated with his Dad's dental office on a 9-day humanitarian mission to the Dominican Republic.
