Don and Heidi Bleggi of Mapleton are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan, to Derek G. Edwards, son of Kevin and Jill Edwards of American Fork. The couple plan to be married on Thursday, June 19, 2008, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

James W. and Carol Bradford Reed celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a family party at Gardner Village. They were married June 11, 1958, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Kevin F. King was honored on June 3, 2008, at the Inaugural Ceremony Governor's Awards For Excellence held at the State Capital. He was given the Integrity Award for the Department of Human Services. He was nominated by fellow employees and the parents of the patients he worked with at the Utah State Development Center. Governor Jon H. Huntsman Jr. gave the opening remarks. He has signed a Proclamation making June 4 Utah Public Employees Appreciation Day. Jeff Herring, Executive Director, DHRM, introducted the winners. Others attending the ceremony in his behalf were his wife Shauna, stepson Colt, daughter Reagen, son-in-law Jeff, son Klint, mother Melba and co-workers Bob Hunt and Lesa Howell.

Fay Hair Miller will celebrate her 80th Birthday on June 20th. Fay is the wife of Milton DeLos Miller and mother to Linda Parkinson, Randy Miller (deceased), Vicki (Tom) Haws, Kevin (Karlyn) Miller, and Tonya (Brad) Smith. Fay has 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She continues to be active in Humanitarian Services and maintaining her personal journal/history.

Shari Marshall and Leif Bybee have chosen June 19, 2008 to be sealed for time and eternity in the Mount Timpanogos Temple.

Elder Greg Atkinson, son of Mary and Scott Atkinson of Provo, has returned from the California Roseville (Spanish Speaking) Mission of the LDS Church. He will speak in the Pleasant View 6th Ward, 2445 N. 650 E., Provo, on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

Sister Caidy Atwood, daughter of Dennis and Cathy Larson and the late Robert Atwood, of Orem has been called to serve in the Florida, Orlando Mission of the LDS Church. She will speak in the Sunset Heights Ward, 1105 W. 600 S., Orem, Utah on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. She will enter the MTC on June 25, 2008.

Elder Brandon Peterson, son of Scott and Tracie Peterson, of Orem has been called to serve in the Michigan Detroit Mission of the LDS Church. He will speak in the Canyon View 10th Ward, 800 E. 1200 N., Orem, Utah on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. He will enter the MTC on June 25, 2008.

Elder J.D. Weston, son of Wayne and Mary Beth Weston of Provo, has returned from the South Korea Busan Mission of the LDS Church. He will speak in the Bonneville Fifth Ward, 95 S. 900 E., Provo, on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. A welcome home celebration will be held that same day at the D. Alexander Peace Park, 845 E. 200 N., Provo beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Cartwrights 90th Birthdays

Vic and Fae celebrate their 90th Birthday. Vic turned 90 on May 9, 2008 and Fae on June 13, 2008. Vic was instrumental in the organization and operation of Deseret Pharmacutical of Sandy, Utah for 20 years after which it was sold to Warner Lambert and later to Beckton Dickenson, the current owner.

Metcalf 50th Anniversary

Dan and Linda Metcalf of Cedar Fort, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.They were married June 7, 1958 in Monett, Missouri, and sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on June 6, 1964. They are the parents of seven children, and have 24 grandchildren.

MacCene Grimmett 95th Birthday

MacCene was born June 13, 1913. Her family will be hosting an Open House birthday celebration on Saturday, June 14th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at her home, 2990 N. 250 E., Provo. All friends and family are invited to attend. No gifts please.
