Two cited during Soulforce march Print E-mail
Daily Herald

About 50 members of the gay rights group Soulforce marched around BYU's campus this morning in protest of the private school's policies on homosexuality.

The group was not invited on campus this year. Campus police and security guarded the corner of Canyon Road and Bulldog Boulevard, where Soulforce had mentioned they would convene.

Soulforce member Kourt Osborn, of Kanab, and his mother, Karel Allen, were issued citations for a Class B misdeamenor of trespassing. The woman and her son attempted to walk onto campus to deliver a mahogany box filled with a "list of concerns" from past and present BYU students about the school's honor code.

BYU police officer Norm Soakai escorted the two into a white van where they were returned to the Days Inn in Provo and released.
