SALT LAKE CITY -- Beer lovers who are also picky about their produce have a new option: An organic microbrew. Bottles of Wildfire are being stocked at area grocery stores this week. The brew, which is made from organic ingredients, is also available on tap at bars and restaurants.
Wildfire is an extra pale ale-light golden in color and body, with a slight "mango essence," said Steve Kuftinec, spokesman for Uinta Brewing Co. The beer is being bottled by Four+ Brewing Co., a Uinta extension brand. Although the transition to organic standards can be costly, organic certification of food and drink is up 40 percent statewide over the past two years, said Seth Winterton, deputy director of the department's Division of Marketing and Development.
