In reply to the Daily Herald editorial about BYU fans booing C.J. Santiago: To say it was very harsh is an understatement. You tried to find anything to put down BYU and sensationalize it. Were you even at the game? I don't condone booing a player of either team, except for unsportsmanlike behavior.
I heard a little booing and moans of disappointment, but I have talked to people who didn't even hear it. You are demonizing all BYU fans for the thoughtless acts of a few. Your "wafted onto the field like a toxic cloud" statement was an exaggeration. You also said, "There may not be another college stadium in America where this would happen." Have you ever been to a college football game in another stadium or watched one on TV? What was the idea bringing in the Church with your stupid "ancient Mormon persecution complex" statement? Calling the crowd hostile is ridiculous. BYU fans aren't perfect, but if you asked unbiased people who have been to BYU games, I'm sure they'd tell you BYU fans are some of the nicest fans around.
