It seems that people are becoming like the three wise monkeys with regard the the economy. Instead of evil, however, the subject is recession. Thus, people take the stance of "see no recession, hear no recession, speak no recession".
Yes, we're in a recession. Some are lucky enough, depending on where they live, to only be entering a recession. But as a whole our economy is performing quite poorly, largely due to the inflated dollar that is spiraling downwards.
We could point fingers all day long (it's not hard to figure out, once you stop "seeing no recession"), but it would be far more constructive to pursue policies that would aid a weakening economy, support a declining dollar, and reassure the worried taxpayer.
How do we start? Stop the printing presses at the Federal Reserve, curb deficit spending, and terminate foreign military adventurism. Those three things, if pursued aggressively, would have an immediate and noticeable positive impact in our economy.

In other words, 'No' to a North American Union!

Our government is bankrupt... it is broke... there is no money in the treasury... the 'Fed' just doesn't want to admit it publicly. The math isn't hard to do... when you spend more than you take in, the ink goes red, but in our case, it is FAR beyond that! The United States government spends approximately $60 for every $1 in tax revenue... this goes beyond negligence and incompetence... this is flat out criminal!
I'd like to know how we have money to spend in this country with a multi-hundred billion dollar budget deficit, a $9 trillion national debt and a 20-year future household liability of $500,000 in unfunded liabilities (for only three programs - medicare, medicaid and social security)?????? The money these guys print and create out of thin air with the printing presses is no better than monopoly money... it isn't backed by anything (aka 'fiat currency'), but it lowers the value of the dollar and inflation goes up, which eats away at savings (for those that actually have anything saved). In essence, it is legalized theft.
Not only that, we are borrowing between $1.5-$2 billion per day from foreign banks and countries just so our 'government' can operate. If there were true justice in this nation, every politician involved in the financial operations of the U.S. government would be arrested and thrown in jail and you would see most of the current and former members of the Bush administration arrested and tried for treason over 9/11. At this juncture, all we can do is pray for divine intervention because things are way beyond repair in Washington.

$9 trillion national debt?
The value of future unfunded liabilities for Medicare, Social Security and other plans is $53 trillion dollars.
