AMERICAN FORK
Arrests made in burglaries -- American Fork police have solved a series of home and vehicle burglaries in the last week with the arrest of two groups of individuals.
Sgt. Shauna Greening said an American Fork woman awoke about 3:30 a.m. when she heard a noise in her house. When she checked she saw a man. He saw her and took off. Police set up a perimeter around the home and neighborhood and was able to locate him. He was arrested and taken to the Utah County Jail. The man is suspected of burglarizing 11 homes in search of prescription drugs, officers said.
Officers were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle on April 8. They were waiting at the vehicle when two juvenile boys returned. Investigation of the youths led to the arrest of a total of nine juveniles and one adult, from the American Fork and Alpine area and solved a total of 47 auto burglaries in the American Fork, Cedar Hills and Pleasant Grove area. The group had targeted only unlocked vehicles, Greening said. Many of the items stolen were recovered in Alpine.
CEDAR FORT
Traffic Accident -- A semi collided with a vehicle entering SR73 from a side road. The passenger vehicle was severely damaged and the driver injured. The driver was transported to the hospital.
EAGLE MOUNTAIN
Alcohol offense -- During a traffic stop an officer smelled the odor of alcohol and observed open containers of alcohol in a vehicle. The driver and a passenger were cited for open container.
Medical assist -- An officer responded to a medical call concerning an unconscious person. Emergency medical personnel also responded and worked to stabilize the patient. The patient was transported to the hospital by Air Med.
FAIRFIELD
Traffic accident -- A motorcyclist crashed on AllenÃs Ranch Road and sustained serious injuries on April 13. Emergency medical personnel responded. The victim was transported to the hospital by life flight.
LEHI
BURGLARY -- A report was filed on March 30 of a home being ransacked. A dining room set was broken.
FRAUD -- Possible fraud over a wedding dress reported on April 1.
TRAFFIC STOP -- An individual was cited with wrong plates, no insurance, and no registration on April 1. The vehicle was impounded.
AGENCY ASSIST -- On April 2, Union Pacific police cited two individuals for railroad violation.
CHILD ABUSE OR NEGLECT -- An individual was cited for child left unattended in a vehicle on April 2.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT -- A juvenile was cited on April 2 with assault and another juvenile was cited with disorderly conduct.
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE -- Three individuals were cited on March 31 with possession of marijuana. One was taken to the Utah County Jail on a warrant.
TRAFFIC STOP -- On March 31, an individual was cited with revoked registration, no insurance, and denied driver's license. The vehicle was impounded.
THEFT -- Police received a report on March 31 of a safe with prescription medications inside stolen from a residence.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT -- On April 3 a juvenile boy was transported to Slate Canyon on disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and possession of another persons ID. He was also brought in an additional charge of theft that pertains to a report of a stolen bicycle.
TRAFFIC OFFENSE -- A woman was cited with revoked registration and no insurance on April 5. Her vehicle was impounded.
WARRANT -- An individual was taken to the Utah County Jail on April 5 on several outstanding warrants and given a citation for driving on a denied driver's license and more
THEFT -- On April 5, Lacrosse sticks, a Lehi Lacrosse jersey, jacket and glasses were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The sticks were recovered along with a note.
PLEASANT GROVE
VEHICLE BURGLARY -- On April 9, police responded to a vehicle burglary that was called in by the American Fork police, who had arrested two suspects for burglarizing vehicles in their city. The suspects took the American Fork officer around pointing out where they had broken into vehicles. Contact was made with the residents at the address given, advising them of the incident.
VEHICLE BURGLARY -- On April 7, officers responded to Geneva Road on a report of a vehicle burglary. Taken was a Hilti Impact drill, Craftsman Impact drill, tool box, truck bed box.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF -- On April 10, officers responded to a report of two male individuals tagging the train trestle at 250 West State. The two males were found to be with Teens Against Graffiti (TAG). No further action was taken.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF -- Officers took a criminal mischief report on April 11 regarding a six-year-old boy who picked his neighbor's flowers. The owner of the flowers requested officers talk to the child's parent and wanted no further action taken. Officers made contact with the child's parents who were advised of the incident.
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM -- Officers made a traffic stop on April 11 on a vehicle that resulted in the arrest of a man. The man was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a drug-free-zone. He was released from custody.
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM -- A caller reported juveniles smoking marijuana in a home in Pleasant Grove on April 12. One of the juveniles was found, cited and taken to Youth Receiving.
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM -- Incident to a consent search of a vehicle on April 11, a man was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail for possession of heroin and possession of paraphernalia in a drug-free-zone.
DRIVING-UNDER-THE INFLUENCE -- Officers responded to a possible DUI on April 10. The complainant stated that one of the occupants of a vehicle was acting intoxicated and believed the driver to be as well. Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle. Officers could not smell any alcohol on him or the passenger. Neither person showed signs of intoxication.
THEFT -- On April 7, reporting party came into the police department to report some items had been taken from a building he was remodeling. Taken were a propane tank and a blast furnace.
THEFT -- Report on April 7 of a wallet that was possibly taken after it was lost.
THEFT -- On April 13, officers responded to a residential burglary that had occurred while the owners were out of town. Taken were a Wii game system, Wii games, a backpack, cash, a check and miscellaneous health supplements.
STOLEN VEHICLE -- A 2000 Mitsubishi Galant ES/GTZ, gray or silver in color, was reported stolen on April 10. The vehicle was listed NCIC as a stolen vehicle.
STOLEN VEHICLE -- A black 2002 Honda motorcycle was reported stolen from a residence on April 11.
SARATOGA SPRINGS
Vehicle fire -- Officers responded to the Lake Mountain subdivision on the report of a vehicle fire. One driver was using his vehicle to jump start another vehicle. The vehicle receiving the charge caught fire and was significantly damaged. |
