Utah Baroque Ensemble
Before taking off to Switzerland and Italy, where it will perform in St. Peter's Basilica, among other places, the Utah Baroque Ensemble will perform two concerts in Utah Valley.
The first will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Grove Creek meetinghouse in Pleasant Grove at 475 N. 700 East. The second will be May 5 at 7 p.m. in the Orem Public Library at 58 N. State St. in Orem. These concerts, given by the world-acclaimed singing group, are free of charge. For more information, visit www.utahbaroque.org.
Music vs. Drunk Driving
The do-good group that grew out of Southern California has teamed up with Drive Thru Records to put on a charity show at the Avalon Theater in Salt Lake City on Saturday.
Confirmed performances include 2nd Day Crush; Mury; Broke City; The Classic Crime; Socratic; You, Me, and Everyone We Know; Say No More; The Trademark; The Recovery; Allred; and The Sweater Friends.
Tickets are $13, with all proceeds going directly to Music vs. Drunk Driving, whose goal is to educate children and teens on the dangers of underage drinking and drunken driving. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. at the venue on 3605 S. State St. in Salt Lake. |
