Spring art show
The Utah County Art Gallery is hosting its juried Spring 2008 Fine Art Show now through June 27.
A reception honoring artists featured in the exhibit will be Friday from 6-9 p.m. Refreshments will be served and music will be provided by the BYU New Horizons Orchestra. Awards and prizes will be presented at 7 p.m.
The Utah County Art Gallery is in the main floor corridors of the Utah County Health and Justice Building at 151 S. University Ave. The gallery is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pioneer spirit
A whole lot of courtin' and marryin' will be going on when the Lehi High School drama program presents "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" in the school auditorium (180 N. 500 East, Lehi). The show, which opens tonight, also features performances on Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. Presale tickets for the first three shows can be purchased at the high school or from any drama student for $5 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets at the door can be purchased for $7 and $5.
Collin Raye, Osmonds to perform at gala
Jared Osmond, son of Virl Osmond and nephew of Donny and Marie, has taken a keen interest in child abuse and is helping the Family Support and Treatment Center raise funds through a dinner and night of performances. The gala will be at the Provo Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 101 W. 100 North, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The gala will feature performances by country musician Collin Raye and Merrill Osmond, among others. Jared Osmond will perform songs from his latest CD.
Tickets to the gala are $100 per seat or $1,000 per table (10 seats) and can be purchased by calling 229-1181 or visiting www.uvfsc.org.
Goin' to the car wash
Members of the SCERA Youth Theatre program are holding a community yard sale and car wash on Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the SCERA Center for the Arts 745 S. State St. in Orem.
