Garland J. Mayne Announces Retirement
After thirty eight years of public service, Garland J. Mayne, has announced his retirement. An Open House, in his honor, will be held on Thursday, May 8th, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Timpanogos Special Service District Administration Building, located at 6400 North 5050 West, Utah County, just southeast of I-15 Exit #275.
Mr. Mayne began his career with Pleasant Grove City in 1970 and worked as Superintendent over the Wastewater Division. In 1978 he became the General Manager for the Timpanogos Special Service District and has been the only Manager during the District's thirty year history. Mr. Mayne has won numerous State and National awards for Operational Excellence and served as President of both the Rural Water Association of Utah and the Water Environment Association of Utah. He served for many years on the State of Utah's Wastewater Certification Board and taught hundreds of Utah Operators while serving as a part time instructor for Utah Valley State College as well as other professional organizations.
In 1983, Mr. Mayne was selected as a representative by the National Environmental Training Association (NETA) and invited to the People's Republic of China to teach principles of wastewater treatment. Mr. Mayne plans to stay actively involved in the wastewater field. |
