Dear Editor,

Editor:

Upon reading last week's article entitled, "Lehi Logo, Slogan to Get Update," our family became very concerned. Lehi has always been a wonderful place to live. It was founded by pioneers. The posterity of those pioneers still live here today because we love our Lehi.

Many of those who have moved here in the last 10-15 years have been drawn to the small-town feel of the city. They wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities. Although Lehi has changed a great deal in size, you can still get that small-town country feeling in many parts of the city. This feeling is what Lehi is known for.

Lehi is also known for its rodeo. It is one of the best in the state. It draws people from all over. Many families have spent many hours at the rodeo grounds eating those famous hamburgers, and watching the clowns, bull riders, queens, and those same bucking broncos that now are seen as a "bad image" to some.

We, as a family, have been very impressed with those who have chosen Lehi in recent years, to be their home. We welcome anyone who wants to move here and enjoy our beautiful city with us, but we don't feel that the city should be "updated" by those who don't understand it's history.

And we feel that those who represent our city should be very careful when considering any changes to be made. Yes, progression is inevitable, but the history and founders of our city is what made it the great city it is today. Their efforts should not be swept under the rug just because they don't look "modern" enough to some people.

If a new logo is needed, we suggest that the logo be made to include those things that are the foundation and fiber of Lehi -- pioneers and, yes, bucking broncos. It's OK to bring in something new, if you don't forget the old. As far as our family is concerned, we are the Lehi Pioneers, we are proud to be the Lehi Pioneers, and we always will be.
