• ACCIDENT -- Northbound Interstate 15 was closed for about 20 minutes Tuesday morning while Utah Highway Patrol cleared a single-vehicle accident in American Fork. UHP said a pickup truck went off the right side of the freeway. The driver was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center with chest injuries and cuts.
• OIL SPILL -- Utah Highway Patrol troopers closed off eastbound Provo Canyon Road after a large oil and antifreeze spill near the mouth of the canyon. UHP said the spill, which covered about 200 square feet, probably came from a semi, though troopers were unable to locate any vehicles it might have come from. Traffic going into the canyon was diverted onto University Avenue. • SEX ABUSE ARREST -- Saratoga Springs police on Tuesday arrested 38-year-old Don Dean Mander on charges of child sex abuse. Mander was booked into the Utah County Jail on charges of forcible sex abuse of a child, aggravated kidnapping and child rape. |
