Bank of American Fork names new exec -- Bank of American Fork, a community bank with 11 branches in Salt Lake and Utah counties, named Christopher Liechty its new vice president of communications. He will oversee internal and external communications and marketing strategy for the bank. Liechty is co-founder of the AIGA Center for Cross-Cultural Design, a national nonprofit that helps graphic designers. He was also an owner of Dialect, an information design and marketing materials translation services company.

BYU professor joins board of national green industry group -- The Professional Landcare Network, a Herndon, Va.-based green industry group, named Phil S. Allen to its 2008 board of directors.

Allen is a professor in the Department of Plant and Wildlife Sciences at Brigham Young University and also a program leader for the landscape management degree. He specializes in seed performance under adverse environmental conditions.

It turns out those who believed Utah was immune from the housing crisis were wrong. I foresee a price correction coming soon as the inventory starts exceeding demand.
