FOX puts 'MI-5' vet in 'Courtroom'
Following the general industry trend, Fox has looked Across the Pond to cast the female lead in its legal dark comedy "Courtroom K."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Megan Dodds will join the Paul Attanasio created series which focuses on a judge, a prosecutor and a public defender working in and around a Milwaukee superior courthouse.
The trade paper says that Dodds will play the public defender. Although she was born in California, Dodds has long been London-based and her credits include the British TV favorites "MI-5," "Viva Blackpool" and "Hotel Babylon."
'Family Guy' creator signs pact with FOX
Seth MacFarlane has signed an overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV, which would reportedly make him the highest-paid writer-producer working on television.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new deal could be worth more than $100 million and it keeps MacFarlane at 20th Century Fox TV through 2012.
Among the properties covered by the pact are MacFarlane's current Fox shows "Family Guy" and "American Dad!," plus the "Family Guy" spin-off "The Cleveland Show," which is expected to be picked up to series for next season. It covers his roles as writer-producer on the three shows and also encompasses his capacity as lead vocal talent.
'The Wire' guy joins '90210' spinoff
A new boy has joined the class in West Beverly High.
Tristan Wilds has landed the male lead in the CW's buzz-about "Beverly Hills, 90210" spinoff, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He joins the Mills family as their adopted son Dixon. So far, the three-generation family includes drunken grandmother Tabitha Mills (Jessica Walter), daughter-in-law Celia (Lori Loughlin), granddaughter Annie (Shenae Grimes) and her son, (not cast). The family has moved to Beverly Hills because of Tabitha's alcholism.
Wilds, 19, is best recognized as tragic young gang member Michael Lee in the acclaimed HBO series "The Wire."
