• The Brigham Young University Young Alumni program will host a tailgate party for graduates of 10 years or less and their friends and family at 11:30 today at the southwest corner of LaVell Edwards Stadium. J. Dawgs will provide a hotdog barbecue and Cosmo and Cougar baseball players will be on hand, all leading up to the BYU-San Diego State baseball game at 1 p.m. Tickets may be purchased for $5 online at youngalumni.byu.edu. Tickets for children 5 and younger are $2, and children receive free admittance to the game. • The Crandall Historical Printing Museum will host a fundraising banquet to celebrate the 220th year of the United States Constitution at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Provo Library Banquet Hall, 550 N. University Ave. Frank Layden, former coach of the Utah Jazz, will be master of ceremonies. Seats are available for a charitable donation of $125. For more information, call 377-7777. HEBER CITY • Mothers can ride the Heber Valley Railroad for free at either 11 a.m. or 3 p.m. today. Each trip follows the shoreline of Deer Creek reservoir. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling (435) 654-5601. MAPLETON • The Mapleton Community Center, at 125 W. Community Center Way (400 North), is hosting an art exhibit from Monday to June 6 that will display the work of Lana Merrell's art students. There will be an open house from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday where students will be on hand to answer questions about their art. Refreshments will be served. OREM • Utah Valley State College will host the annual Technology Expo on Monday at the McKay Events Center, 800 W. University Pkwy. the public is invited to an open house from 5-7 p.m. to see students' projects and displays and for an awards ceremony. The home was built with Leo and Andrea Atene and their three children and help from Brigham Young University Construction Club students. |
