A positive change? Print E-mail
Daily Herald

The Herald did an exceptional job of laying out today's issues with polygamy. I am not a fan of polygamy, and certainly cannot condone any child abuse, but as with claims about drugs, legalizing polygamy might make it mostly go away. The secrecy today that allows some abuse to go on could be breached without fear of catastrophic overreactions as in the Texas case. If polygamy somehow slowed the rampant exploitation by men of all ages of young single woman that our society now seems to accept as natural and desirable, that alone might make it a positive change.
