Utah doesn't want nuclear waste Print E-mail
Daily Herald

What is this anyway? A big reason for not expanding the nuclear power generating capacity of the United States, and thus reducing our dependence on foreign oil, is the question of what to do with the nuclear waste -- our nuclear waste.

It is my take that most legal citizens of Utah do not want Utah to be a dumping ground for nuclear waste, our nuclear waste. And then, EnergySolutions is attempting to import foreign nuclear waste into the United States and to use Utah as a dumping ground!

Does my brain have a lot of screws that are loose that would make me think that we, in Utah, would even consider importing nuclear waste from foreign countries and dumping it in Utah when dumping our nuclear waste is not welcome?

Billions of dollars are involved in the disposal of our nuclear waste. Some of that money would go a long way in treating some of the shakers and movers in Utah, as well as in the Federal Government, to a lot of dinners, vacations, and other "treats" on a grand scale in order to pull the wool over the eyes of us "trusting" citizens of Utah.
