Congress will not solve illegal immigration; hooray for the U.S. Border Patrol! It has accomplished what the Congress of the United States has failed to do, namely, stemming the tide of illegal immigration across our southern border. A recent Herald article proclaimed "Mexican Migrants Giving Up." Due to a variety of measures, illegals are getting the message that it is not worth it to cross the border in violation of the law.

So what Congress has not the courage to do, everyday American citizens have taken on themselves, demonstrating once again that the solution to our nation's ills is not in the hallowed halls of Washington, DC; it is in the ingenuity and hard work of its people, who labor in the trenches every day to keep America safe and free.
