HIGHLAND • Michael Harris is retiring after 31 years of working for Alpine School District. There will be an open house in his honor today from 2:45-4:30 p.m. in the Lone Peak High School's Little Theater, 10189 N. 4800 West. Harris taught 11 years at Lone Peak High School, 15 years at American Fork High School and five years at American Fork Junior High School. LEHI • The Lehi Area and American Fork chambers of commerce present a Women in Business and Wellness Conference titled "Women of Worth ... Hats off to you!" on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Tahitian Noni International, 333 River Park Drive. Speakers include Matt Townsend and Miss Utah, Jill Stevens. Cost is $35 and participants are encouraged to wear hats to honor women who have lost their hair while fighting cancer. PROVO • Congratulations to Colton Moore, of Amelia Earhart Elementary, whose television ad, "Smokey's Ribs," was awarded first place in the TV category of The TRUTH from Youth Anti-tobacco Advertising Contest. Moore received a $300 prize. • Free women's health screenings continue today from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Utah County Health and Justice Building, 151 S. University Ave., #1709. SPANISH FORK • Two Spanish Fork roads were closed Tuesday in preparation for site improvements in the area. Small portions of 1000 North, between U.S. Highway 6 and 400 East, and 600 East, between 800 North and Highway 6, will be closed for 30 to 60 days. The roads will be closed while they are widened and utility improvements are made. SPRINGVILLE • Congratulations to Yitzhak Godinez, of Brookside Elementary, whose radio ad, "The TRUTH Rap," was awarded first place in the radio category of The TRUTH from Youth Anti-tobacco Advertising Contest. Godinez received a $300 prize. • The Springville Museum of Art will host its Annual Member and Volunteer Spring Brunch at 11:30 a.m. today.
