MT. PLEASANT-- The final two Students of the Month for the 2007-08 school year have been selected by the faculty and staff at North Sanpete High School.¬
Todd Johansen and Sylvia Bedford have been selected for this honor due to their outstanding scholarship, citizenship, and involvement in community and extracurricular activities. Sylvia Bedford Sylvia Bedford is the daughter of Bill and Cindy Bedford, Fairview. She currently carries a 3.6 grade point average and has taken difficult courses like advanced biology, English 1010, humanities, pre-calculus,and math 1060. She has done this all while also being a four sport athlete at the high school. Bedford has been the cross-country team captain for the past two years and has led her team to two region championships. She also runs track and the team took region last year and is the heavy favorite to repeat this season.¬ She was also the starting setter on this year's volleyball team and the starting point guard for the basketball squad. Due to her love of sports, Bedford plans to attend Southern Utah University in the fall and would like to study some sort of sports-related science. Todd Johansen Todd Johansen is the son of Darin and Lori Johansen, Spring City. He has a 3.94 grade point average and will finish his associate degree through Snow College. He was also the North Sanpete High School Mathematics Sterling Scholar. This young man loves the outdoors and enjoys four-wheeling and camping with his family. His favorite food is lasagna. Upon graduation, Johansen will attend Brigham Young University and plans to study for a degree in engineering. He also plans to serve an LDS mission. |
