Miss Eagle Mountain Kim Onions, first attendant Shelby Terrell and second attendant Jessica Bare will be an integral part of hosting and entertaining during the 10-day city celebration for Pony Express Days.
Their first official appearance as city ambassadors for Eagle Mountain will be at the Home for a Hero event on Friday, 2-4 p.m., at the Lone Tree Subdivision. As a matter of fact, Shelby's father, Gordon Ewell, is the soldier being honored and as part of the Ewell family, Shelby will be at the event as a daughter and sister. On Saturday, Miss Eagle Mountain and her attendants will be helping children decorate pancakes at the kids' table for the Firefighters Breakfast at City Hall. Breakfast begins at 9 a.m. Tickets for the repast is $2 per person or $5 per family. "Picture with a Princess" is a time set aside for those princesses, both young and old, who would like a photo taken with Miss Eagle Mountain royalty. An activity as part of the Family Fun Night planned with The Concert in the Park at 6:30 p.m. on June 2, it is a free pre-event activity. Miss Eagle Mountain royalty will have a booth at the Pony Express Days Carnival at Nolan Park on June 5-7 with a spin the wheel game where each child can win a small prize. Kim, Jessica and Shelby will perform their talents at the June 6 Nolan Park concert entertaining the hundreds that attend the three-day carnival. The threesome will don their tiaras and gowns one last time for Pony Express Days and ride the Eagle Mountain royalty float in the city's grand parade that begins at 10 a.m. by Cedar Pass Ranch on June 7. Miss Eagle Mountain and her attendants will then be ambassadors outside of their city going to at least 10 parades in other cities from July through August. After school starts, Miss Eagle Mountain Kim Onions plans on visiting each month one school as part of her responsibilities as a mentor and role model for children.
