COUNTYWIDE

• Costa Vida restaurants in Orem and Provo are celebrating their fifth anniversary by offering the signature Big Kahuna Burrito for only $5 today through June. A favorite of Costa Vida customers, the Big Kahuna Burrito is made with hand-crafted tortillas and filled with cilantro lime rice, cheese, black or pinto beans plus a choice of sweet pork, shredded chicken and either hot, medium, mild or mango sauce. Costa Vida is at 1200 N. University Ave. in Provo and 1621 N. State St. in Orem.

 

AMERICAN FORK

• Today is the last day of free public swimming at the American Fork Fitness Center, 454 N. Center St. Free public swimming is from 3-8 p.m. Normal fees will apply Friday and Saturday.

OREM

• The AARP's Senior Driver Safety Class we be on Saturday at the Seville Retirement Center, 325 W. Center St. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $10 per person and will entitle participants to a certificate and possible discount on annual auto insurance. Check with your auto insurance company for details. All material and manuals will be provided. Call 765-1744 to register or inquire about the course.

PROVO

• Provo will officially open its new 7.16-acre Sherwood Hillside Park, 4500 N. Foothill Drive, at a ribbon-cutting celebration today at 9 a.m. The celebration is free and open to the public.

The park, which has been under construction for about a year, will feature two tennis courts, two pavilions, a fire pit, playground equipment, restrooms and a 10-foot-wide walking trail that wanders around the park. It is built on a hillside with a difference of 144 feet from the base to the top, including several level areas for the various amenities.

• Habitat for Humanity of Utah County is offering a free home-maintenance class today at 6:30 p.m. at Habitat's ReStore building, 626 N. Freedom Blvd. The class is part of a five-session course offered in connection with Community Action Services. The topics of this month's class are basic landscaping and lawn care. All interested community members are invited to attend.
