Orem furniture company to open new office in Germany -- Mity-Lite Inc., an Orem-based institutional furniture maker, is opening a new sales office and distribution center in Saarbrúcken. The southwestern Germany office, which has three workers for now, will help augment the company's production capacity in Utah.
"Serving as a central transportation hub, this new office in Saarland gives Mity-Lite the ability to quickly mobilize sales and distribution across the European Union," said Mity-Lite CEO Randy Hales.
Alberto Da Silva, who has been with Mity-Lite for more than a decade, will manage the new office in Saarland and oversee direct sales operations in Germany, France, the UK, Italy and Spain. Mity-Lite, which has 350 workers company-wide, also intends to hire German and French sales executives, and plans to enhance its market presence in Spain.
Founded in 1987, Mity-Lite makes lightweight tables, as well as folding and stacking chairs, portable dance floors and partitions.

Beehive credit union promotes worker -- The Beehive Credit Union in Provo promoted Jenn Titus to marketing manager. Titus, a former marketing specialist, will be responsible for planning and executing promotions and special events, as well as some supervisory duties. She has worked at the credit union for more than seven years and holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Utah.
Orem Coldwell Banker agents honored -- Five sales agents with the Orem office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage were honored as members of its International Sterling Society for their sales contributions. They are Don Houskeeper, Leslie Jones, Roy Laycock, Adele Satterfield and John Wallace.
SLC law firm adds attorney -- The Salt Lake office of Strong & Hanni named Aaron C. Jacobs an associate. He will be a member of the Construction Law and Commercial Litigation practice groups. His areas of practice include construction, real estate and commercial litigation.
Jacobs received his J.D. in 2007 from Oklahoma City University and his B.A. in International Studies in 2003 from Brigham Young University. He became a member of the Utah State Bar and U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City this year. |
