Kevin F. King was honored on June 3, 2008, at the Inaugural Ceremony Governor's Awards For Excellence held at the State Capital. He was given the Integrity Award for the Department of Human Services. He was nominated by fellow employees and the parents of the patients he worked with at the Utah State Development Center. Governor Jon H. Huntsman Jr. gave the opening remarks. He has signed a Proclamation making June 4 Utah Public Employees Appreciation Day. Jeff Herring, Executive Director, DHRM, introducted the winners. Others attending the ceremony in his behalf were his wife Shauna, stepson Colt, daughter Reagen, son-in-law Jeff, son Klint, mother Melba and co-workers Bob Hunt and Lesa Howell.
