"For a child who cannot see as he should, there is a critical window when a corrective lens would solve what may be a minor problem. If that window is lost, it may cause the child permanent eye damage."

Dr. Ross Frandsen, O.D., who practices out of the Wal-Mart Vision Centers in Payson and Springville, says a pair of glasses may stimulate a child's eyes at a very critical time..."and could prevent a lifelong problem."

The Wal-Mart Vision Center will be screening children for no charge at the Payson Lions Club gigantic yard sale at Payson High School's south parking lot this Saturday, June 21, from 8:00am to 2:00pm.

All monies generated through the sale of booths for yard sale items and arts and crafts, plus refreshment proceeds, will be donated by the Payson Lions Club to fund local eye-care programs for Nebo youth.

Local school administrators will administer the funds so that needy children will receive eye care.

Payson Lions Club President Duane Gilger says hundreds of individuals, families, artists and vendors will meet at one place sell their wares with the advantage of a gigantic pool of buyers.

Gilger says a better title might be, "Yard Sale Mall."

Sellers will keep the entire amount of their sales. The only charges by the Lions Club will be the small fee for the spaces used by each seller. A fee of $15.00 is the charge for each single space at the 'Mall.' A larger space will be $25.00. Hot dogs, hamburgers and various refreshment stands will be manned by Lions Club members will proceeds allocated for children eye examinations and corrective eye wear.

The Nebo School District serves over 25,000 students.

Space can be reserved by calling Duane Gilger at 798-9080.

Gilger suggests vendors reserve their spaces now. "Let the Payson Lions Club do your advertising. This is going to be the largest craft-yard sale in south county history."
