Boys and Girls Club exec resigns Print E-mail
Daily Herald

The executive director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Utah County announced his resignation this week.

Weston Parsons will be leaving the organization after four years as executive director, citing new employment opportunities.

In a recent e-mail to staff and friends, Parsons said he has accepted a position with Ensign Group managing long term care facilities.

Parsons said the change has been in the works for some time.

While serving as the executive director, he was also obtaining a masters in public administration, which he completed last year. With that degree, he said he made the decision to work in the healthcare industry.

Parsons will remain executive director with the Boys and Girls Club until July 8, and will work part-time for the next six months assisting with the transition and hiring a new executive director.

Although Parsons knew he would be leaving the Boys and Girls Club when he completed his degree, he said the change is not easy.

"It was a very hard decision," he said. "I enjoy the people I work with very much and I enjoy the club immensely."
