Arctic Circle employee charged with faking robbery Print E-mail
DAILY HERALD

Saratoga Springs police say a former fast-food restaurant employee who reported being robbed at knife point was the real hamburglar in the case.

Police spokesman Cpl. Aaron Rosen said Marissa D. Jeknavorian, 20, of Eagle Mountain, was charged with felony theft, misdemeanor theft, filing a false report and providing a false written statement to police after allegedly reporting a fake robbery of her restaurant's cash deposit.

Jeknavorian told police she was walking to the bank to deliver the cash deposit from her shift at the Arctic Circle in Saratoga Springs when she was accosted by two men, one of whom was armed with a knife, Rosen said. Jeknavorian reported that the men forced her to hand over the cash, police said, but she later confessed to fabricating the story.
