MT. PLEASANT-- Ashley Green, daughter of Paul and Cherrie Green, Moroni, was recently named Mt. Pleasant 2008 Rodeo Queen. She is a talented, outgoing individual, who enjoys serving the community.

She has faced many challenges throughout her life. Overcoming obstacles has helped her set high goals. One of the goals was to be the first one to be awarded the first saddle awarded by Mt. Pleasant City.

Green is a junior at Manti High School, where she maintains a 3.5 GPA, is active on the Child Abuse Prevention Team, FFA and the track team. She would like to become a veterinarian.

She appreciates her parents; grandmothers, Linda Helsten and Marlene Green; Kendra Sagers; John and Kay Jensen; Mt. Pleasant Mayor Chesley Christensen; Mt. Pleasant City Councilmembers; Joey Liddiard and Gaylyn Widdison; George and Katie Green; and all the generous sponsors.

Green looks forward to representing Mt. Pleasant in the various events throughout the summer.

The Hub City Days Rodeo will be held Thursday and Friday, July 3 and 4. Mutton Bustin' begins at 7 p.m. and the Clegg Rodeo starts at 8 p.m.
