MARCHING BAND THANKS COMMUNITY Print E-mail
Daily Herald

Last year's Springville High School Marching Band brought home several trophies and recognitions from the season-end competition, in Lodi, California. It is expected that this year's band will do just as well.

In order to cover the costs of travel to this competition, band members participated Saturday in the annual SHS Marching Band Yard Sale. The band will use the money from the sale to go to the Grape Bowl Classic in Lodi again on November 1.

The band students wish to extend a warm thanks to all who supported their success in the event.

Thanks to the Springville Chamber of Commerce and the local businesses who helped to get the word out -- Reams, Allen's and Walgreens.

Thanks to the Springville Museum of Art and to Cherry Creek Elementary for graciously providing a place for them to hold this event. Thanks to the SHS administration for facilitating their efforts.

Thanks to their dedicated band boosters who give hours and hours behind the scenes to help the young people succeed. Thanks to their fearless director, Lena Halkidis, for making the music possible!

And finally, thanks to the community for your donations and support. The band is looking forward to a great season and hope you'll share it with them!
