Mapleton has been recognized again as one of 55 Utah cities qualifying as a "Tree City USA." The standards for becoming a Tree City are to have a current City Tree Ordinance, to have an active Tree Committee, to have an expenditure of $2 per citizen for the all encompassing Tree Program, and to hold an Arbor Day Ceremony.
Mapleton is fortunate to have Harvest Park participating with plantings and the care of trees along the streets of that new housing development.
If you wish to get involved with the Urban Forestry Program, let them know by calling the City Offices at 489-5655, and look for the Tree City flag in the 24th of July parade. |
