Being raised in Sanpete County I was very troubled to learn that Moroni feed/turkey plant had shut down. Using corn for fuel is stupidity. What's even more disturbing is the fact that the U.S. government is using billions of tax-payer dollars to subsidize ethanol. In short, the radical left-wing environmentalists have hijacked the agricultural industry, which in turn is forcing turkey, beef and pork farmers to dramatically raise their costs or go out of business.
We have more resources in America than any where else in the world yet we are buying oil from OPEC and yogurt from France. It's like having an orchard in your back yard and still going to the grocery store for apples! Let's open up ANWR, the Gulf of Mexico and southern Utah to oil drilling and put OPEC out of business. Doing so would create thousands of high-paying jobs and the price of fuel would fall dramatically. Lastly, let's get the global warming rats out of congress and get corn back into turkey feeders.
