Cooking Taste Right
Don't worry about the funny name -- the cooking tastes fine here, especially the Taiwan-style shaved ice. For $4, it comes in a large bowl covered in condensed milk, syrup and fresh fruit. It tastes far better than any slushy beverage you can find on a street corner.
Cooking Taste Right serves a selection of Chinese and Mongolian dishes, some familiar and some less so. We liked the Mongolian Huushuur, which is a meat and vegetable wrapped in a pastry and fried. We also liked the Chinese-influenced Sacha Chicken, served on rice. Most meals cost around $7 and are plenty large for one person.

Sammy's
There's a nice little vibe at this downtown burger-and-shake place, and you can sit at the outdoor tables that are shaded in the evening. It serves burgers and chicken sandwiches with a variety of shakes and smoothies to go with them.
You'll also want to try the sweet potato fries or the battered french fries, both of which are extra tasty. Everything is made to order here, including the whipped cream, which means things taste fresh, and you can have what you like. But it also means things take a while, so go when you have some time. You'll want to savor every sip of your banana cream pie shake.

Thai House Cuisine
Thai House is actually in a house, a large one on Lehi's Main Street, which adds to its charm. It's fun to dine in a quiet room with only a few other tables.
The food here compares favorably with our favorite Thai restaurants, especially the Mussaman Curry and the Pad Thai. But watch out for the spice level: we ordered medium and it was plenty hot. Thai House serves a weekday lunch special for $6.99 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For dessert, try a mango with sticky rice and coconut milk or a Thai doughnut, stuffed with sweetened beans.
