Morris Clark's former residence on 308 W. Main St. has become a business home for Lehi natives Brad and Leslie (Bateman) Wilson.

Main Street Interiors, Inc., features interior needs for new homeowners and those who want to refurnish their older home with flooring, cabinets, countertops, mantles and fireplaces, repairs and installation.

The son of Burt and Taunya Wilson of Lehi, Brad Wilson has inherited his father's red hair and his concern for serving his customers. He has also had 18 years experience in construction.

As a contractor, he felt the need for providing an easier method for finishing a home.

"We're just trying to find an easier way for homeowners to make it more enjoyable picking out their interiors," Brad Wilson said.

As an example of their interior savvy, the Wilsons renovated the Clark residence, transforming it into a showroom.

"Yes, most everybody loves it," Wilson said. "Everybody comes in and can't believe the difference, the quality (finished) in the amount of time."

Large wood pillars give the exterior entry a strong dynamic of outdoor western style inviting customers into a warm interior of earth tones in the walls, flooring and stone pillars and wood beams.

Pretty much gutting the building, Wilson raised the roof and built three offices, available for lease, upstairs. The fireplace is refinished with stone and wood. A playroom for children, complete with floor-to-ceiling painted trees a monkey, giraffe, hippo and toad, entertains them with toys and movies while their parents shop.

The Wilsons said they believe their progressive showroom is a benefit to their customers. Other assets to the location are parking, and easy access. They also offer a wide range of products from Mannington, Tufftex and Shaw, as well as the Wilsons's experience in interiors.

Personable, they additionally have a sharp sales manager Bronson Smith of Lehi who likes to smile while he talks to visitors.

He said they carry wood flooring, carpeting, porcelain tile, stone tile, and more. One particular type of flooring fairly new to Utah is cement flooring and countertops.

"It's been in California for a while," he said. "It's not your garage floor concrete ... it goes right over the old countertop."

Installation of the concrete product takes only two days and can be customed stained and sealed either in gloss or a ceramic coating.

Another particular favorite is the Appalachian line of hardwood flooring.

"It's solid and engineered so it doesn't expand and contract," Smith said. "You won't get cracks in it."

All of their carpeting is Stainmaster treated. Their tile and wood is scratch and water resistant.

Neila Peterson of Lehi came by Main Street interiors, inc., to pick up an order for her family and she admitted she was curious to see the inside of the old Clark home.

She remembers when she played as a child with a friend two doors east of the Clark home.

"We used to run across the street to Davis Market," she said. They also used to sleep out on the portico of the old Relief Society building now undergoing its own changes on Main Street.

The Wilsons opened their business Main Street interiors, inc., during the first few days of Round-Up Week, the last full week in June.

"We're excited to start a new adventure," Wilson said of Main Street interiors, inc. opening.
